Brazilian Lemonade

June 27, 2011

Okay, I have a serious addiction to Our Best Bites and this Brazilian Lemonade.  It’s so good, and so simple!  I love things with 4 ingredients!  And I love my Blendtec too.  We’ve become totally dependent on our blender!  Which may sound really weird to anyone that doesn’t have one.
Disclaimer: apparently this is called lemonade but made with limes because in Portuguese lime is limon…or something like that.

4 juicy limes (buy limes with thin, smooth skins…juiciest & least bitter)
1 c sugar
6 c cold water
6 T sweetened condensed milk

Mix cold water and sugar very well and chill until ready to use.

Wash limes thoroughly with soap.  Cut the ends off and then cut each lime into 8ths.

Place half of the limes in your blender.  Add half of the sugar water and pulse 5 times.  Place a fine-mesh strainer over a serving pitcher and pour the blended mixture through the strainer and into the pitcher.  Press out any remaining liquid (into the pitcher) and discard the skins and pulp.  Repeat with remaining limes and sugar water.  Add sweetened condensed milk.

Serve immediately over ice.  Serves 4.  Maybe.

*This doesn’t keep well, so prep everything ahead of time if you want (cut limes, make sugar water, measure out sweetened condensed milk), but don’t make it until you’re ready to drink it!
