Hubby was big a fan and he even took some home teaching with him. Basement Dwellers loved them too. These come from the Karo recipe book (that I got free around Christmas time).
Combine cereal, marshmallows and peanuts in a large mixing bowl. Set aside. Heat corn syrup and chocolate chips in a saucepan over medium heat until smooth, about 4-5 minutes OR in a 1 quart microwaveable bowl; microwave on high for 1 1/2 minutes until smooth. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter. Combine with cereal mixture and mix well. Pour into a greased 13×9 inch pan, pat into place. Chill 1 hour until firm and cut into squares.
*I reserved some peanuts and marshmallows to sprinkle on top, and drizzled it with some reserved chocolate mixture.
*If your peanuts are raw, toast them for better flavor. Makes a big difference.
*Pat into place firmly, or they won’t hold together well.
*If storing in the fridge, microwave on defrost for about 20 seconds to make them soft and chewy and warm. So good.
