Lasagna Pie

I got this recipe out of the newspaper last week, and it’s pretty good. I think I’ll make it again.



1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust

Meat Mixture:
3/4 lb. ground beef
1/8 t garlic powder
1-1/2 t Italian seasoning
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce

Cheese Layer:
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 c large curd cottage cheese
Dash of pepper
1/4 c Parmesan Cheese

Mozzarella cheese slices

Brown meat (I threw in 1/2 of a chopped onion too); add garlic powder, seasoning and tomato sauce. Simmer while making cheese layer.

Fit pie crust into pan and place 1/2 meat mixture in crust. Add cheese layer then slices of mozzarella cheese. Top with remaining meat mixture. Sprinkle top with more Parmesan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Let sit on wire rack for at least 10-15 minutes before slicing.
