Heidi’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

September 19, 2008

This is Heidi’s cookie recipe, and it’s great! I used it to make this.

My little guys descended like vultures (one from each side) as soon as my attention was on taking the picture. Can’t blame them, who doesn’t love cookies?

7/8 c butter (1 3/4 stick), softened
3/4 c white sugar
3/4 c brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla

1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 1/2 c ap flour

6 oz chocolate chips (1/2 bag)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream butter and sugars. Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Add soda and salt; mix well. Add flour; mix well. Add chocolate chips and combine until evenly distributed. Form dough into small balls (approximately 1 1/2 inches in diameter). Bake until just golden, approximately 7-11 minutes.

*I added 1 t baking powder. I’ll make them again without to see if there’s a difference.

*I add just half a bag of chocolate chips because that’s how we like them…not too chocolaty.
