I thought this would be a fun way to use the rest of the ghosties. I gave one to #2 and he ate the marshmallows off the top. Didn’t care about the rest of it. This is the classic Rice Krispie Treat Recipe right off the box.
1 package (10 oz, about 40) regular marshmallows or 4 cups miniature marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
Stove Top Directions:
1. Melt butter in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
2. Add Rice Krispies. Stir until well coated.
3. Using a buttered spatula or waxed paper, press mixture evenly into a 13x9x2-in pan coated with cooking spray. Cut into 2-inch squares when cool. Best if served the same day.
Microwave Directions:
In microwave-safe bowl, heat butter and marshmallows in high for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Follow steps 2 & 3 above.
Makes 24.
Kellogg’s Notes:
*For best results, use fresh marshmallows.
*1 jar (7 oz) marshmallow creme can be substituted for the marshmallows.
*Store no more than two days in an airtight container.
*If you find yourself using margarine, use real margarine. Do not use tub, light, or reduced anything. You really should be using butter anyway.
