I’m not a huge cake fan, but I had to make one for a luncheon. So, I went in search of the perfect cake glaze. It took about 90 seconds, but I finally found it!! Gotta love allrecipes.
Not only is it super easy and super yummy, but it’s a great food storage recipe! I just happened to have all the ingredients on-hand. All 3. And I got my cake there on time (even though I had forgotten and was lucky enough that someone called to ask me something about the luncheon, which neither of us were actually going to).
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 c semisweet chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla
In a medium saucepan over med-low heat, add sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips. Stir constantly over heat until chips are melted and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Cool slightly before drizzling over cake.
*To make your own sweetened condensed milk:
1/2 c hot water
1 c powdered milk (non-instant)
1 c sugar
1 T butter
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend very well. Equal to one 14 oz can.
*Can be made ahead. Cool glaze, store in the refrigerator, and reheat in the microwave. Just be careful not to scorch it while reheating.
*This made much more than necessary for one bundt cake (I still had leftover glaze, and the pictures show how much I put on!). I will halve the recipe next time, which is SO EASY to do when making it from powdered milk!
