Hi, I’m Becky, and I’m the cook/photographer/writer/eater behind this blog. I’m so glad you stopped by, and I hope you try and love the recipes here.
I’m a mom to four small people and spend an inordinate amount of time washing dishes. I love running, reading, hiking, crocheting, good grammar, traveling and movie nights with my crew. I’m married to an amazing guy that makes me a better person. We live in Utah, near the mountains, and I spend a lot of time staring at the view out my window (as I wash said dishes).
As a kid, I spent a lot of time cooking with my mom. She was frugal before it was cool! We rarely (and I mean, like, twice a year, folks) ate out when I was young, so we cooked a lot. Every Friday was homemade pizza night (plus a little TGIF on TV!), and one of my favorite memories of cooking with my mom is making that pizza dough. I didn’t find a passion for the kitchen, though, until I was a mom myself, and discovered that food and flavors could be a lot of fun!
I’m not paleo, vegan or vegetarian, but love trying all kinds of recipes, so you’ll find a little bit of everything here. I’m a believer in whole, unprocessed foods, but to balance that out (that’s a joke, even though I’m serious), you’ll see occasional recipes that use box mixes or Oreo cookies. I believe fat is good for us (the right kind, of course), so I don’t do low or reduced-fat recipes, unless it just happens to be low in fat. I buy as much organic/non-GMO food as possible, but I’m also a real person feeding a real family with a real budget, so I just do my best when it comes to food quality.
I write many of my own recipes, but I also receive inspiration from others. I credit other sources when applicable.
